The Aaronsburg Pottery - A Still Life Collection

I have always admired the work of long-time friend and master potter Scot Paterson, as well as the beautiful way his pots are displayed in his rustic house turned studio in Aaronsburg, Pennsylvania. The pots, with their elegant curved lines, rich earthy colors, and reflective surfaces, are a painter's dream. So, I've begun a project to capture some of these qulaities in a series of still life oil paintings. Many of these were painted on site from life in the pottery. A few are studio pieces completed later at home.

Most of these will be unveiled for the first time at a joint show with Scot in the pottery that opens Friday evening, November 13, 2009 and will run (minus any pieces sold) through at least the holiday season. The opening reception is from 5 until 9 on the 13th, and all are welcome to share in refreshments and meet both artists. Otherwise, his regular fall hours are Friday 3-7 pm, Saturday 10 am - 5 pm, and Sunday 1-5 pm.

Please note that there will be special pricing on these pieces in effect at this show. Other paintings, including many local landscapes, will also be available.
