Karl Eric Leitzel Studio - Custom Signs

home | graphics and web design | fine art

I've been a professional sign painter and graphic artist in the Penns Valley and State College area (and occasionally farther away) for over thirty years, and this is still an important part of my work, along with fine art and graphics/website design. The signs I create can be relatively simple and inexpensive or elegant and sophisticated, depending on the client's needs. The examples below are just a few of the more recent projects I've done, showing some of the types of signage I specialize in. I build, finish, and install hand painted, carved, and gold leaf signs. I don't do neon, internally lit, or cut vinyl signage. I also letter trucks and vans and do window lettering in either hand painted enamels or 23K gold leaf.

Because I am also a professional fine artist, custom images or lettering styles are never a problem, and unless the client already has a finished design, helping to create an effective sign design is commonly a part of the process. I generally do a mockup on the computer that I can then print out or email to the client for approval or further modifications. I always give a firm price quote before starting a job. The graphics I create in designing a new sign can also often be modified for use on letterheads or advertising materials, or vice versa.
